Children of the Same Water Is Out Now
There is something strangely terrifying about writing outside your comfort zone.
Most of you know me for dark fantasy, romantic suspense, morally questionable immortals, emotionally unstable men, and women who probably need therapy instead of another supernatural soulmate. So naturally, I decided the logical next step was to write an upper-class British alternate history romance set in a world where the Crown still rules the American territories.
Because apparently I enjoy suffering.
And somehow… I fell completely in love with it.
Children of the Same Water was one of the hardest books I’ve written in a long time. Not because I didn’t love the story, but because I’m a woman from the backwoods of West Virginia trying to convincingly write aristocratic British characters who have spent their entire lives speaking in a social language completely different from my own. At times it felt less like writing a novel and more like learning how to translate human behavior from another species.
But Christian Ashcombe and Grace Rowen would not leave me alone.
What began as a simple idea slowly became one of my favorite worlds I’ve ever built—dark old estates, political tension, lost heirs, duty, obsession, old promises, and a love story that feels haunted by history itself.
If you enjoy:
Gothic atmosphere
Aristocratic romance
Alternate history
Protective, obsessive heroes
Emotional slow burn
Old-world family dynasties
Stories that feel a little melancholy and dangerous
…this book was written for you.
And yes, there is bonus content included both in the book and on my website, so don’t skip the extras listed in the back matter.

Thank you, truly, to everyone who continues to read my strange little worlds. Every single release still feels surreal to me.
