I’ve Been Stopping to Smell the Flowers (And I Have Some New Books Coming)

Hello my friends,

I know I’ve been quiet lately, but I promise I haven’t disappeared. I’ve just been taking a little time to stop and smell the flowers... for real. The dead nettle is in full bloom all over my yard right now, and every time I walk outside, the whole place looks like a painting. It’s hard not to slow down and appreciate it, even when life is busy.

And life has been very busy in this season. I have two children about to finish college, which feels impossible because I’m fairly sure they were both in footie pajamas about ten minutes ago. And for those of you who may not know, I also have a younger daughter with autism who keeps me busy.

My middle daughter is in culinary school about 35 miles away, which in West Virginia math actually equals about 53 minutes because I have to drive up and down two mountains to get her there. She's a new driver and the route is treacherous for even us seasoned hillbillies. So for four hours a day, three days a week, I'm not writing at all. I'm just in the car thinking about it.

But I want you to know—I am still writing. A lot. And I have many releases planned for this year.

Right now, I have three books available for preorder. They all currently say a release date of 12-31-26, but that is just a placeholder because Amazon makes us pick a date. You know me — I have about as much patience as a toddler trying to spit something out, so these books will release the minute they finish final editing, release date be damned.

There will be other releases as well, but these are the three that I have a firm handle on at the moment.

So here’s what’s coming:

Children of the Same Water
A gothic alternate history romance featuring a lost heiress, aristocracy, inheritance, arranged marriage, political intrigue, and a love story shaped by power, loyalty, and choice.

This story is very different from my usual work. One night the entire idea dropped into my head all at once — setting, characters, politics, all of it — and I stopped everything else I was working on and started writing it immediately. Sometimes a story taps you on the shoulder, and sometimes it grabs you by the throat and says “now.” This one was definitely the second kind, and I’ve learned not to say no when my higher power hands me a story.

All That Haunts Me
The third book in The Broken Immortals Reborn, a dark fantasy series steeped in vengeance, fate, and tragic devotion. Told in first person, this reimagined beginning to Tessa's story offers deeper emotion, richer worldbuilding, and a love story that echoes across time.

Against the Current
The third novel in the Love Stories from Oakridge series (a continuation of the Mercy timeline) — small-town romance with protective heroes, stubborn heroines, open-door romance, and high-stakes emotional tension.

You can also follow my Amazon author page here to get release alerts when new books go live:

And for those of you who prefer audiobooks, I am very slowly releasing my self-recorded audiobooks on YouTube, chapter by chapter. These are 100% free, but you’ll need to subscribe to the channel to get notified when new chapters are uploaded.

You can find them here:

If you do subscribe, leaving a like or a comment on the videos helps more than you know. It tells YouTube to show the videos to more people, which helps me keep writing, recording, and putting out more stories.

Enjoy your holiday and hopefully a little sunshine!

P.S. All three preorders are currently $1, and the price will go up after release. If you like grabbing books early and cheap, now’s the time.
